Artistic review - Photography

i am an advanced photography student at Pittsburg high school and my assignment is to review my teacher's website before he changes the theme. Bryan Farley is my advanced photography teacher as well as a father and an amateur photographer. he is also something else that i never thought because like he said it is an "invisible disability" Farley is a person who lives with epilepsy. Epilepsy for those who don't know is a brain disorder where a person will have repeated seizures that are triggered by certain things. in Bryan Farley's website he illustrates his purpose very clearly in a couple of words right after showing you what you could say a sneak peek to what his photography is like. the preciseness and clarity of his purpose is very effective and any person who happened to stumble across his website would easily know that the purpose of his website is to uncover hidden stories of diverse groups finding common ground so he can teach others how to avoid tragedy or lessen its impact.
Mr. Farley's website is rather plain and dull but his amazing photographs make up for the unappealing website also this was most likely done intentionally by him because if he were to make a very attractive website then the website itself would  be a distraction and people viewing his website would find the theme more interesting than his photographs. the website itself is very interesting with seven main tabs and several folders within them getting lost in his website is very unlikely. all the links work in his website so i give him credit on that too because way too many websites provide links that don't work and its rather frustrating when its something that you really wanted to see.
now onto the meat and bones of Farley's website, his photographs ! every photograph is appealing to the eye's you can see all types of composition in his pictures and they are very diverse like he said they would be. he doesn't focus on just a certain type of photography like taking pictures of flowers or taking portraits of people. his photographs are very different to one another thus making for a very interesting website to be on also for the viewers benefit he adds folders under his portfolio tab where you can access the different types of pictures his taken for certain events. he also provides a gallery that is displayed in a very nice. all his photographs relate to the purpose of his website and the goal he is trying to achieve all in all his photographs are comparable to those of a professional photographer and the are alot of fun to look at.
to summarize Mr Farley's website is a well done simple but elegant website that is definitely worth looking at. i would recommend any student or person professional photographer or high school photographer to take their time and visit his website you will see that through his photographs he achieves the purpose he set to accomplish and much much more.

cropping for better composition

before
after

the cropped photo illustrates the rule of diagonals because the waste bins are diagonal and across from each other in the cropped picture and that is the main focus in this edited photograph.

before

after

the cropped photo illustrates the movement rule of composition because the girl was moving in the back and she was caught in mid-step chasing after some bubbles.

camera review

                  canon T3i camera review

the canon T3i is a very reliable camera. costing at around 600 dollars on Amazon it has 4 and a half stars out of five. Almost a thousand reviews have been made for this camera and the majority are good reviews there are a couple bad reviews which mention the camera going dead after a couple months of use but that is most likely due to an error in fabrication not because the camera is a bad product. it has tons of amazing features that higher end professionals cameras have as well some features are its amazing 18 megapixel sensor and digic 4 processor. it has a 3 inch crystal clear LCD display monitor its shooting speed is 3.7 frames per second which is not the best but will be perfect for the avid amateur photographer. the battery life is not extraordinary but it does last long enough to capture some amazing photographs all in all it is an amazing camera and nothing but good has been said about this camera. if you are an amateur photographer looking for a nice camera to capture breathtaking moments then this is the perfect camera for you.

Yosemite and Photography

Pop Laval made money through donations Yosemite did not pay him. currently a lot of people take pictures of yosemite they are created by exploring the main sites at the national park. some photographers are paid to photograph yosemite but not a lot because there are so many photographers. if i spent a day at yosemite to take pictures i would go to the most scenic places and take amazing pictures focusing on all the skills that make photographs priceless and breathtaking. i would want to get as close as possible to the main attractions and stay there until daylight runs out just taking photographs after photographs.

history (and future) of the photo booth

in the 1889 world fair the eiffel tower was revealed. This enormous structure stood nearly 10,000 ft tall in its inauguration in March and was the tallest building in the world until the completion of the empire state building in 1931. it has attracted millions of people all around the world and has been site to many stunts, ceremonial events, and even scientific experiments. but something just as marvelous had been created as well a lot smaller. the photobooth it was created by anatol josepho after many years of research and exploring he created this amazing machine although the eiffel tower is an amazing structure there are many newer more breathtaking structures all around the world but nothing has been created that is better than the photo booth.

photo booth picture 1. effect: glow i chose this effect because i liked how it changed my skin tone and darkened a lot of the shadows which added a scary effect to the picture

photo booth picture 2. effect: twirl i chose this effect because i liked how it distorted my whole body to the point where i'm almost unrecognizable which i thought was really cool

photo booth picture 3. effect: sepia i chose sepia because of the old fashioned look this filter has

photo booth picture 4. effect: x ray i chose this effect because as i was messing around with it i noticed how my eyes looked really weird and i think thats what stands out most on my picture

photo booth picture 5. effect: comic book i chose this effect because i always liked how comic books looked and using this effect i felt like i was a comic book character

looking at light

light reflects differently on things it can be blinding or it can lead the way. we examined the way light reflects on us by standing under the light that was shining down from the roof of the hallway. i noticed that light makes certain colors look a lot brighter and shinier for example a member of my group was wearing black and their black shirt when they stood under the light looked like a brown shirt but their black hair was really shiny also the light did not reflect on all of them certain parts like under their eyes or on parts of their clothing that was folded had shadows. light is  an amazing thing to examine because light can be manipulated in almost anyway and is an essential tool for making amazing photographs.
